From School to Hockey Dreams

Our son has always had big dreams, and despite living with Type 1 diabetes, he never let it hold him back.

At just 10 years old, he made a bold decision: school would be his path to becoming a hockey player. We were all surprised and proud of his determination. He believed excelling academically would open doors to opportunities in the sport he loves—and he was right.

He worked hard, not only on the ice but also in the classroom. His dedication paid off when he earned an excellent scholarship to attend a prestigious hockey high school in Canada. Three years ago, he made the big move, and we watched as he thrived in both his studies and his hockey career.

Now he has graduated from high school. This weekend, we took another big step in his journey. We moved him to Sweden, where he’ll be playing hockey at the next level. It’s a new chapter, but his determination and passion remain the same.

From the start, he has shown us that nothing—not even diabetes—can stop him from chasing his dreams.
